A CELADON JADE 'CAT AND BUTTERFLY' PENDANT, LATE QING TO REPUBLIC China, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Carved as a recumbent cat with its head turned back as a butterfly rests on its back, the space between the head and front paws allowing for suspension as a pendant, the translucent stone of a celadon tone with yellow veins. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, some natural fissures to the stone. Provenance: US private collection in California.
