Attributed to William Aikman (1682-1731) Portrait of two sisters, seated full length, a page offering a basket of fruit, and a landscape beyond oil on canvas 180 x 150cm Provenance: Christie's London, 'Old Master Pictures', 23 April 2009, lot 38. Condition report: Oil on canvas which has been lined. The canvas tension is slightly slack and there are minor undulations at the corners. There are a few small patches on the reverse repairing small damages. The paint layer is in a good, stable condition overall. Along the lower edge is an area of raised and flaking paint. There are areas of retouching across the surface of the painting which are fairly well matched to the original, expect for in the flesh paint where is has slightly lightened overtime. The varnish is even and semi-glossy. There are several scuffs and scratches in the surface of the varnish and a light layer of dust.
