Follower of Frederick de Moucheron (1633-1686) A wooded landscape with figures by a pool oil on canvas 61 x 68cm, unframed Condition report: Oil on canvas which has been lined. The paint layer has a general network of age cracks which are slightly raised but stable overall. There is extensive overpaint in across the surface but particularly heavy in the darker areas of the painting. The overpaint is not well matched to the original, leading to a slightly confused image. The overpaint is assumed to cover wear and old damage. The varnish is even but no longer adequately saturating the varnish layers below.
