Henry Cooper (19th/20th century) Wooded landscapes with children playing a pair, both signed 'Henry Cooper' l.l., oil on canvas 51 x 76cm (2) Condition report: Both works are in oil on canvas supports which are unlined. The painting with the stream has a small, horizontal tear near the top edge. There are vertical undulations to the canvas and paint layers, possibly caused by an object hitting the back of the canvas. In both paintings the thicker paint passages of the sky has a pronounced network of age cracks with raised edges. There are pronounced stretcher bar marks at the upper edges where the paint layer has cracked following the line of the wooden stretcher behind. There are a few small, scattered losses on both works. The varnish layers are slightly yellowed and patchy.
