Edward Williams (1782-1855) Windsor Castle from the Thames oil on canvas 60 x 83cm Provenance: with Arthur Ackermann and Sons, London, bearing their label verso. Condition report: Oil on canvas which has been lined. The canvas tension is slightly slack but the picture is generally in plane. The paint layers are in a good, stable condition. There is one area with slightly raised cracks in the upper left corner. Localised areas of overpaint and fairly well matched to the original. The varnish layer is even but slightly uneven and patchy. There is a thick layer of surface dust present.
