A large figure of the Virgin depicted standing in a gently swaying pose on a shallow plinth, designed for a frontal viewpoint. The Christ Child, dressed in a long drapery, holds a globe in His left hand and is supported by the Virgin over Her hip. The Virgin's pose forms an S-shaped curve that is accentuated by the vertical pleats of Her red dress, which form an effective contrast to the rounded folds of Her cloak.
