《礼记•礼器》记载：「三牲鱼腊，四海九州岛岛岛之美味，笾豆之荐，四时之和气也，内金，示和也。」故陈设稳重端庄之精铜重器，在于表率天下，整肃人心，合众之力，承其德政之意。此对铜瓶器型独特，瓶身呈橄榄形，撇口长颈，颈中部对饰双夔龙耳。瓶身以浮雕技巧雕饰以蕉叶、夔龙、波浪纹样，刻画生动，夔龙极有灵性，环绕瓶身，纹饰豪华富丽，极具宫廷气息。此种装饰多见于同时代及稍早期之清代宫廷官窑瓷器之上，用之于铜瓶则极为少见。周身铜色包浆莹润，微微发黄，乃是宫廷铸造铜器所用之上等好铜，故而分量颇为坠手。全器造型精巧，工艺复杂，仿古铜色古朴肃穆，与灿烂的鎏金相互映衬，构成一种既古雅又新颖的奇特氛围，成对保存至今，颇为难得。
