An Egyptian bronze and clay figurine of Osiris, Late period (650-300 BC), shown seated and wrapped in mummy cloth as the ruler of the underworld, constructed as a thin layer of bronze over a clay core, and on a later wooden base, 15.5cm high Provenance: Count Eric von Rosen of Rockelstad Castle, Stockholm, Sweden, thence by descent. These items were acquired by Count von Rosen, a prolific author, explorer and friend of Howard Carter during the 1920s, and were exhibited at Rockelstad at that time. Condition report: Chips and loses to the headdress, surface heavily patinated, with further small losses, small area of later solder to the underside.
