苏东坡爱竹成原，他曾济‘宁可食无肉，不可居无竹”，还题写过“梅寒而秀，竹瘦而寿，石丑而文，是三益之友”。松竹梅一起寓意岁寒三友，松、竹经冬不凋谢，梅迎寒开放，因而有“岁寒三友”之说。宋代诗人林景熙的《王云梅舍记》“即其居累土为山，种梅百本，与乔松修篁为岁寒友。”后人以此比喻忠贞的友情。明清两代的玉牌上常用此图案。此件玉牌取材规整凝润，洁白如脂，采用减地凸雕法雕饰，布局合理，精碾细琢，细腻传神，正面雕有松竹梅，背面雕刻作者印鉴。顶额线条刻画卷曲纹饰，中有小孔，便于穿系丝绳携带。不同于中规中矩的方牌，外缘造型凹凸有致，更显玉牌之精美。非常值得收藏。
