DESCRIPTION: On white porcelain, delicate and gentle sprays of intricately designed roses float down this antique Chocolate Pot. On a Ranson Shape, every detail of this piece is perfection and beauty. The scalloped base is rimmed in a fine gold scalloped line; the handle displays the elegant split ribbon of the ‘blank’ and proudly displays gently worn gilding to remind us this piece was used and loved. The lid features two matching roses, gilding, and rests upon a slender piece of art. The Chocolate Pot evokes warm thoughts of another era and its simplicity opens the door to the next century within the moderne home and now....under your care. WHY I LIKE IT: This antique is simply elegant. I love knowing it was not only well taken care of but also used as it was meant to be. The loss of gilding on the handle and lid reminds me this piece has a loving past. BACKSTAMP(S): H & Co (Haviland) L (Limoges) France (underglaze, in green) CIRCA: 1888-1896 DIMENSIONS: 10” high (incl lid) x 6.5” spout to handle CONDITION: Very Good to Excellent with very minimal manufacturing anomalies. Loss of gilt to handle and lid; consistent with age and use. No chips, cracks, crazing or repairs.
