An elaborate, colorful, detailed polychrome Chinese porcelain tazze serving dish from the late Qing or early Republic period. The stem bowl serving dish is heavy and hand potted. It has delicate polychrome designs of flowers with a plantain border. The central medallion is of peaches and a bat. The foot is shallow and unglazed. The mouth rim has a gilt edge. There are no marks or labels. MEASUREMENTS 6 7/8” (17.5 cm) diameter x 4 ½” (11.4 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 3.8 oz (560 g) CONDITION The dish has chip inside the rim, but no other damages. Other than wear to the gilt on the rim, the enamels are bright and shiny. There are kiln flaws, such as minor bumps, pimples, and black spots. These are small and not distracting. A large serving dish that could still be used. It is colorful and very decorative.
