Description
Translation provided by Youdao
Offered is a Staffordshire transferprinted plate by J&J Jackson showing their interpretation of the city of Hartford, Connecticut. This was part of a series of scenes depicting many American locales and was made for the American market. They were in business from 1831 to 1835 and were among the very first potteries to manufacture prints in the new underglaze colors other than cobalt blue. On the back is the printed mark as shown. Dimensions: The diameter is 10 1/4". Condition: Excellent. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. The color is good, the print is very clear, and the glaze is very smooth throughout with hardly a scratch. IMPORTANT UPDATE: Ruby Lane must now add sales tax to your if your US state has sales tax. Early period antiques are quite old, were made to be used, and frequently have signs of age and use and sometimes a small manufacturing flaw or repair. While this is normal and to be expected, I note any known issues in the condition description. is free for the lower 48 continental states in the United States. Other state or international buyers must pay for ping. Please contact me for a quote. All credit purchases as well as those by international buyers must be made through .
